Like mother, like daughter: Jamie Lee Curtis recreates Psycho shower scene

The premiere of Scream Queens is coming up fast, marking Jamie Lee Curtis' fateful return to horror. Whether or not the show will be great is still up in the air, but we can rest assured knowing that they're aware of what a special asset they have. For a scene in the upcoming show, Jamie Lee was asked to recreate her mother Janet Leigh's fateful shower scene from the horror classic PSYCHO.

There's no word on whether or not they'll ask her to recreate her father Tony Curtis' drag saxophone scene from SOME LIKE IT HOT, but we did get this incredible Instagram picture:

Jamie Lee certainly seems to have a good sense of humor about the whole thing, which gives me high hopes about the quality of the show. And whether or not the whole series will be drawing on PSYCHO influences, it's paying respect to where it came from, which shows that they have their heads in the right place.

With so much classic slashdom at their disposal, especially college-set films like THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW, FINAL EXAM, and even GIRLS NITE OUT and PIECES, one can only hope that they keep the homages going while maintaining their own unique storyline.

In Season 1 of Scream Queens:

Wallace University is rocked by a string of murders. Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by its Queen Bitch, Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts). But when anti-Kappa Dean Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc, claiming one victim, one episode at a time.

The first installment in Fox's planned anthology, Scream Queens also stars Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Skyler Samuels, Nasim Perdad, Billie Lourde, Oliver Hudson, Diego Boneta, Glen Powell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lucien Laviscount, Ariana Grande, and Nick Jonas.

The show debuts with a two hour premiere on Tuesday, September 22nd.
