TAKEN 2 is definitely one of the heavy hitters for the Fall movie season and rightfully so. The success of the first film, coupled with the high-concept story makes for great action movie goosebumps with some suspension of disbelief thrown in for good measure. Liam Neeson is always a presence to be reckoned with in his films, but he’s really taken ownership of his role as former agent Bryan “the man with a particular set of skills” Mills, paving the way for a solid franchise character in his image.
This internet exclusive trailer is cool, but similar to what we’ve seen already. The real treat is the unlocked scene, which gives you a sense of how the film will play out with Maggie Grace helping out Mom (Famke Jannsen) and Dad (Neeson) this time. Obviously, we know that Neeson will break free and go on a kill crazy rampage, but I like the cat-and-mouse game here, which is what made the first film as fun as it never should’ve been.

Here’s the synopsis:
Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.
TAKEN 2 hits theaters on October 4, 2012.
