If you watched the second season of Arrow then you no doubt heard the mention of supervillain Ra's al Ghul. Unsurprisingly he will be the main antagonist of the third season which is set to premiere on October 8, 2014. While people are still waiting to hear which actor will portray Ra’s al Ghul for the starring role, Liam Neeson has mentioned he is more than willing to reprise his role from Christopher Nolan’s BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
He said to MTV while promoting his upcoming film A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES:
"No, I haven’t [been approached], I haven’t at all. I would [do it], in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah. Very much so.'
I wonder if the producers of Arrow even thought to ask Neeson, or maybe they figured it was too unlikely that the star would work for the CW show. Regardless he did offer some advice for whoever ends up in the role:
“They have to believe in their philosophy. Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it.”
Are you watching Arrow? Would you have liked to see Neeson return as Ra's al Ghul?
He might be better suited for a comedy I would have thought:
