The onslaught of YA film adaptations just keeps trucking onwards. Youths. Dystopia. Mystery. Romance. Rinse and repeat.
Last year saw the release of THE MAZE RUNNER, a film based upon a series of YA novels by James Dashner. It was fairly successful at the box office and actually received mixed to positive reviews, but let’s be honest, even if everyone hated it we’d be getting a sequel anyway; these films are so cheap to make that they can't possibly lose money. The sequel, THE MAZE RUNNER: SCORCH TRIALS, completed filming just over a month ago and we’re starting to get our first images from the film.

You might remember that THE MAZE RUNNER star Dylan O’Brien was one of the names rumoured to be attached to the role of Spider-Man for the upcoming reboot, but I imagine he’ll be kept busy with this series for the next few years. Not being overly familiar with where the franchise goes following the first movie, I can't comment on what we're seeing here other than it looks like our heroes have gotten themselves into a bit of a pickle. Swell buffet table though so…there's that?
THE MAZE RUNNER: SCORCH TRIALS will be arriving in theaters September 18, 2015, almost a year to the day after the release of the first. The turnaround on these movies are insane.
Those of you who have seen the first film, what say you: Is it a HUNGER GAMES or a TWILIGHT?
