Let the Right One In becoming a TV show on A&E

Well, this is unexpected.

A&E is turning the fantastic Swedish vampire drama LET THE RIGHT ONE IN into a television show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series will be written by Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis and Brandon Boyce (APT PUPIL), while A&E produces in-house.

I don’t think I have to remind you the film was remade in 2010 by Matt Reeves and Hammer Films as LET ME IN. (Quite successfully, I might add.) Both films were based on a book by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

In case you haven’t seen it, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN focuses on

Oscar, a 12-year-old fragile and bullied boy, who finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl he befriends, who moves into his building. When Oscar discovers that Eli is a vampire it does not deter his increasing feelings and confused emotions of a young adolescent. When Eli loses the man who protects and provides for her, and as suspicions are mounting from her neighbors and police she must move on to stay alive. However when Oscar faces his darkest hour, Eli returns to defend him the only way she can.

No word on when A&E plans to air the series just yet.
