It’s no secret that I hold Tomas Alfredson’s LET THE RIGHT ONE IN in great esteem, so the recent casting rumors about Matt Reeves’ American remake, called (stupidly if you ask me) LET ME IN, got me wide-eyed and praying it’d be true. But sadly…
Reports spread like swine flu yesterday that Phillip Seymour Hoffman would be onboard as the character called in the book and original film Hakan – since they’re changing the two main characters’ names, safe to assume this one will probably end up being called Sam or Bill. Or Moreno.
BUT, the folks at Slash Film got wind from Overture Films that the Hoffman casting was brilliant but also akin to Megan Fox as Catwoman. They didn’t however deny reports of THE ROAD’s Kody Smith McPhee playing Owen (originally Oskar) while vampire Abby (or Eli) will be Chloe Morentz, the no-nonsense little sister from 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. Another movie I can’t gush enough about.
Official news on the film’s casting is expected by the end of the week according to Overture. Any speculation until then?
