Earlier this month we learned that Lina Esco had signed on to raise a little hell alongside Tom Ellis in Fox's upcoming supernatural show "Lucifer", based on the DC Comics character originally created (in comic form that is) by Neil Gaiman. Now Deadline is reporting that there has been in change in casting, with "Spartacus" alumna Lesley-Ann Brandt replacing Esco after the pilot’s table read, with Esco released and Brandt, who also had tested for the role, brought in.
The TV series centers on Lucifer, who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.
Len Wiseman is directing the pilot, as well as producing. Jerry Bruckheimer is executive producer. Tom Kapinos penned the first episode.
