Leonardo DiCaprio’s Twilight Zone film gains momentum & new writer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

While Christine Lavaf is a name you might not recognize, that may all change here soon as not only did she sell three original spec pilots last year, but she was also a contributor to Michael Dougherty’s GODZILLA 2 writers’ room, and now she has been tapped to write THE TWILIGHT ZONE movie!

While Warner Bros. has been developing a film based on the classic series since 2009, supposedly THE TWILIGHT ZONE movie is “gaining momentum” at Warner Bros., and the studio is looking to make the film a sci-fi tentpole.

The last we heard about the film was that Joseph Kosinski (OBLIVION) was set to direct the film with Anthony Peckham writing. Other writers attached in the past include Rand Ravich (THE ASTRONAUT’S WIFE) and Joby Harold (KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD).

It’s worth noting that while the 1983 TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE included four tales of terror, the new movie Warner Bros. is looking to set up will only focus on a single storyline.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE rundown via Variety:

“The Twilight Zone,” created and hosted by Rod Serling, ran as a series on CBS from 1959 to 1964. The show melded fantasy, science-fiction, and horror elements with Serling serving as the exec producer and writing or co-writing 92 of the show’s 156 episodes along with delivering monologues at the beginning and end of each episode.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE movie is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.
