Hollywood dream team, Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, are re-teaming for ROOSEVELT, a drama set around the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. On writing duties for the film is Scott Bloom with DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson producing via their Appian Way studio, in a partnership with Martin Scorsese and Emma Koskoff through Sikelia. Chuck Pacheco will also serve as a producer on the newly-announced feature. ROOSEVELT will mark the seventh time that Scorsese and DiCaprio have joined forces for a major Hollywood project after previously releasing the following films: GANGS OF NEW YORK (2002), THE AVIATOR (2004), THE DEPARTED (2006), SHUTTER ISLAND (2010), THE WOLF OF WALL STREET (2013) and THE AUDITION (2015).
Roosevelt is commonly known for being the youngest to rise to the position of Commander in Chief after President William Mckinley was assassinated in 1901. During his time as President, Roosevelt was known for his efforts in conservation, of which included works around reserves, preserves, national parks and forests. Now that he's signed on to the project, this will be marked as DiCaprio's second time portraying Roosevelt after a previous attempt at the role went the way of the dodo.
No relase date has been set for ROOSEVELT at this time.
