"The #1 book of 2009…Several sleepless nights are guaranteed." —Stephen King.
Focus Features will be releasing director Lenny Abrahamson's (ROOM) new gothic-horror flick THE LITTLE STRANGER starring Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson, Will Poulter, and Charlotte Rampling this August. And today we have your first look at the film via an all-new poster and trailer.
You can check out the poster below along with the film's creepy new trailer, which is based on the novel by Sarah Waters. A novel which Stephen King himself called the #1 book of 2009 (see quote above). The novel, which is now a must-read for me, has been adapted for the screen by Lucinda Coxon (THE DANISH GIRL).
Produced by Gail Egan, Ed Guiney, and Andrea Calderwood, THE LITTLE STRANGER tells the story of:
Dr. Faraday, the son of a housemaid, who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. But it is now in decline and its inhabitants – mother, son and daughter – are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life. When he takes on his new patient, Faraday has no idea how closely, and how disturbingly, the family’s story is about to become entwined with his own.
Again, you can check out the film's trailer and poster below and then make sure to mark your calendars as the spooky little flick is all set to be released via Focus Features on August 31, 2018. I love a good gothic creepy kid flick so I'll be there. How about you? Let us know below!
