Leigh Whannell’s Insidious: Chapter 3 sets new release date

We’ve got some release date news to help feed those hungry minds of yours as word is coming in that Leigh Whannell's INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 has done some minor tweaking of its theatrical release date. Originally the film was slated to haunt theaters on April 3rd, 2015 but it will now be opening a month later as it has been pegged with the new date of May 29, 2015. So there you have it, exciting stuff right there.

JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS star Stefanie Scott and Dermot Mulroney have recently joined the cast. We still have no details on what the third installment has in store so be on the lookout for those once we get them.

Jason Blum is producing the third installment again for Blumhouse alongside Oren Peli and James Wan. Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Peter Schlessel, Lia Buman, and Xavier Marchand are executive producers.

Focus Features, which acquired the rights to release INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 from FilmDistrict, is taking on distribution duties in the U.S. eOne will distribute the picture in Canada, U.K. and Spain. Sony will distribute the picture in the rest of the world. Principal photography of the movie is scheduled to start on July 7th.
