Hello everyone, my name is Steve and I'm a Potterhead as well as a LEGO Master Builder. "Hi, Steve," the support group chimes. I've been a fan of LEGO for over 35 years, and most recently, my wife and I dedicated a room in our basement as a place to house and display all of our latest LEGO projects. This past weekend, we completed our work on the Destiny's Bounty ship from LEGO's Ninjago line, and now we've been left with no choice but to stash some money aside for the release of LEGO's Hogwart's Castle of Harry Potter fame. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.
Serving as the fifth model since 2001 of the fictional institution, LEGO's upcoming iteration of Hogwarts Castle clocks in at a whopping 6,020 pieces! Oh, the back pain! It's coming, and I welcome its jagged embrace with open arms. Entertainment Weekly exclusively debuted the new set this morning, along with a detailed description of the set's interior spaces.
LEGO’s new Hogwarts features a stunning brick, staircase, and stained-glass interior that includes the Room of Requirement, the Gryffindor common room, the Great Hall, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the offices of Professors Dumbledore and Umbridge, the chess and Devil’s Snare chambers from Sorcerer’s Stone, Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom, and the Goblet of Fire. Its grounds feature Hagrid’s Hut, the Whomping Willow, the actual Chamber of Secrets, boats, creatures, and all sorts of Hagrid-groomed greenery (via EW).
The Hogwarts Castle set will also come with a graduating class-full of minifigures including Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Lupin to Voldemort, Umbridge, Bellatrix, Filch, Dementors — as well as the four Hogwarts founders, in all of their plastic glory. Upon its release, LEGO's new Hogwarts Castle is poised to become the biggest Harry Potter-related LEGO set ever made, practically laughing in the face of LEGO's 2,000+ piece Diagon Alley project.
Here's a detailed look at the set below:
The LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set will be made available for VIP LEGO members (awkward cough) members on August 15, and on September 1st for non-VIP LEGO enthusiasts.
I'll say this again. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.
