With Legendary Pictures recently leaving Warner Bros., we knew it wouldn't be long before the studio started dipping their claws into some new territory as they team up with Universal. Variety reports that the the first project the two companies could collaborate on is DRACULA, which sees Gary Shore at the helm with Luke Evans and Dominic Cooper starring. Right now the vampire tale is set to release on August 8, 2014.
Legendary is also combing over Universal’s slate for a number projects it will help fund under its new five-year co-financing and distribution pact with the studio. Thomas Tull of Legendary and his team will also consider co-funding the fourth installment of Universal’s planned reboot of the JURASSIC PARK franchise as well which will shoot next year.
That wont be the only thing keeping the studio busy, however, as they will have a plentiful number of Universal's monster movies to chose from, including VAN HELSING and the upcoming MUMMY sequel, both of which would seem natural co-financing vehicles for the company behind next year’s GODZILLA. You can't complain about that! Legendary will be an amazing addition to these films as well as many more and I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
