The world's of Law & Order are about to collide as the new spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime has set its premiere date with a Law & Order: SVU crossover that brings Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler back into the Law & Order fold.
Meloni will be reunited with his SVU co-star, Mariska Hargitay, during part 1 of the crossover that begins on Law & Order: SVU at 9:00 PM on April 1, 2021. Hargitay plays Olivia Benson on SVU and shared the small screen with Meloni for the first 12 seasons of the NBC procedural hit. The crossover continues on the series premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10:00 PM, which sees Meloni's Stabler returning to the NYPD after a devastating personal loss where he joins a new, elite task force designed to take down New York's most powerful criminal syndicates. The series was announced in March 2020 with a straight to series order and was initially slated to join this season's fall lineup but it was postponed when the show switched showrunners. Fans of Law & Order: SVU will be excited to see Meloni and Hargitay back together as their reunion has been long in the making. The duo kicked off SVU together in 1999 and were partners in solving crimes until Meloni exited the series in 2011. Stabler abruptly retired from the force, off-camera, during the season 13 premiere of the show. Don't be surprised if this is the first of many crossovers between the two Law & Order shows and don't forget that these Dick Wolf-produced dramas also share a universe with Chicago P.D. so there will be plenty of crimes to explore across all of these series.
