While some are shielding their eyes from anything related to THOR: THE DARK WORLD as they prepare for its imminent release, those that still need a little convincing would do well to watch this clip of Thor accepting the surrender of the rock monster known as Korg the Kronan. It's a fun, cool moment that we've seen play out in the trailers and TV spots so far, but plays out in its longer format to punctuate the moment even more. The clip was played at SDCC this past summer and was the moment where I felt that they had captured the same spirit of the first film, but added a bit more grit and style, which was enough to get me excited to see the God of Thunder back on the big screen.
Surrender:
As many folks continue to see the film overseas and press screenings empty out, the resounding opinion seems to be that this is a solid second round for Thor, if even just slightly better than the first (see our review here). I think the excitement just to see the continuing journey of Marvel's Cinematic Universe on the big screen plays a large role in the success of these films, regardless of which character they feature and with the line-up through 2015 it doesn't seem to be showing signs of wear. Yet.
