As we inch closer to the release of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, which is slated to serve as the culmination of the entire nine-film saga, we're starting to see much more from the film, and the upcoming issue of Empire Magazine will dive deep into the epic conclusion by interviewing J.J. Abrams, co-writer Chris Terrio, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Empire has released three covers for the upcoming issue featuring Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), and an illustrated subscriber cover featuring both Kylo and Rey by Paul Shipper.
I would imagine that bringing a trilogy to a satisfying close is challenging enough, but THE RISE OF SKYWALKER aiming to conclude the story which began all those years ago in 1977 seems like a tall order. In regards to Rey, Daisy Ridley teased at the D23 Expo that everything felt very satisfying with how her character comes to a close.
Yeah. It felt really…doing it, I was like, physically, couldn’t have done anything else. Emotionally, couldn’t have done anything else. So, it was really, genuinely satisfying doing it all, filming it all. There would be scenes where I would be so excited to film them.
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
