Kurt Russell heist flick picked up by Dimension Films

Dimension Films has announced today that they’ve picked up U.S distribution rights for the heist comedy THE BLACK MARKS, coming from Darius Films.

The film will star the inimitable Kurt Russell as “Crunch Calhoun”, a Evel Knieval-type character who makes the classic mistake every character does when they don’t realize they’re starring in a heist film- they go back for one final gig. Matt Dillon stars as his shady little brother and Jay Baruchel (KNOCKED UP) is another of team.

Crunch Calhoun (Russell), a third rate motorcycle daredevil and semi-reformed art thief, agrees to get back into the con game and pull off just one more lucrative art theft with his untrustworthy brother Nicky (Dillon). Crunch reassembles the old team and comes up with a plan to steal a priceless historical book, but the successful heist leads to another, far riskier, plan devised by Nicky. What the brothers don’t realize is they each have their own agenda and their plan goes awry in this con movie about brotherhood, honor and revenge.

Jonathan Sobol (A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO ENDINGS) is directing and Nicholas Tabarrok of Darius Films is producing, with Jeff Sackman acting as executive producer.

THE BLACK MARKS will start production later this month.
