X-Men alumna Alexandra Shipp is joining the already star-studded cast of David Sandberg's KUNG FURY sequel! Set to be written and directed by Sandberg, the project already has Michael Fassbender, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and David Hasselhoff ready to give Hitler what for. The project will serve as feature follow-up to the filmmaker's viral YouTube short, with plans to take the action-comedy premise to new and disturbing heights.
In the original short, set in 1985 Miami, the greatest damn cop of all time, Kung Fury, teams up with a law enforcement outfit known as the Thundercops to defeat Adolf Hitler, a.k.a. Kung Fuhrer. To bring one of history's greatest monsters to his knees, Kung Fury and his compatriots must travel through time and space, thwarting the Fuhrer's efforts at any cost.
Shipp, who played Ororo Munroe, a.k.a. Storm for both X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and DARK PHOENIX, will step into the role of Rey Porter, a news anchor who will stop at nothing to get the best story. Shipp is replacing Eiza Gonzales, who was previously cast for the part.
