Earlier this week we shared the news that director Peter Askin would begin filming the film adaptation of Stephen King's 2010 novella A GOOD MARRIAGE at the end of May with Joan Allen headlining. Today we have the news that Allen will be joined onscreen by THE CABIN IN THE WOODS star Kristen Connolly, who is set to play Allen's daughter Petra, according to Deadline.
Connolly is currently enjoying the success of the breakout Netflix Original Series "House of Cards", in which she plays congressional aide Christina Gallagher opposite series star Kevin Spacey. "House of Cards" is currently shooting its second season.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with King's story, it was part of his latest collection of shorts from 2010's "Full Dark, No Stars". This particular story in the collection was fantastic because it explores the idea of how we can never fully know anyone, even the people closest to us. Askin will be directing from a screenplay written by King.
“When her husband of more than twenty years is away on one of his business trips, Darcy Anderson (Joan Allen) looks for batteries in the garage. Her toe knocks up against a box under a worktable, and she discovers the stranger inside her husband. It’s a horrifying discovery, rendered with bristling intensity, and it definitively ends a good marriage.”
Askin is producing with his Reno Productions partner Will Battersby. Production is getting underway at the end of May in Sleepy Hollow, New York with a 15-day shoot scheduled at a local home.
