Kong: Skull Island will be giving the great ape a major size upgrade

Kong: Skull Island

King Kong has never been a slouch in the size department, but compared to Godzilla, he's rather puny. With Warner Bros. gathering up their giant monsters under one roof, they've realized that King Kong will need a size upgrade if the great ape is to pose a threat to the over 300ft tall Godzilla. During the Warner Bros. panel at CineEurope in Barcelona, KONG: SKULL ISLAND director Jordan Vogt-Roberts revealed that his Kong will be quite a lot larger than the previous American incarnations.

This is going to be the biggest Kong there's ever been, not 10 foot or 30 foot, but a 100-foot ape.

Those 100 feet still fall significantly lower than Godzilla's height, but who knows, perhaps Kong will receive another size upgrade in between KONG: SKULL ISLAND and GODZILLA VS. KING KONG. Of course, being an ape, King Kong will also be quite a bit more agile than ol' Godzilla. It pays to be limber, folks. Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jason Mitchell, John C. Reilly, John Goodman, Tom Wilkinson, Toby Kebbell, Corey Hawkins, and Shea Whigam all star in KONG: SKULL ISLAND which is due out on March 10, 2017. The sequel to GODZILLA will follow on March 22, 2019 and the two will finally face off in GODZILLA VS. KING KONG on May 29, 2020.
