Now I know most of you will not watch this in the end but it’s always good to know what the kiddies are up to these days. You’ve probably heard about Kodi Smith-McPhee’s performances in “uber-depressing/award winning” THE ROAD ranged from excellent to “kids got talent.”
Shock Till You Drop has just offered a morsel to the public regarding McPhee’s next line of work that will deal in the second dimension. However, i’m pretty sure being all cartooned up won’t be that bad if you’re staying the right genre that is. McPhee will indeed be playing in an animated feature called PARANORMAN which will still swim around in the horror pool with the other big fishies.
“I’m doing an animated film next called Paranorman,” the young actor revealed to Shock Till You Drop while discussing this week’s release Let Me In, which he stars in. “I play a boy named Norman who can see ghosts and he saves the world from a zombie invasion.”
PARANORMAN is (tentatively) due sometime on 2013. That’s a nice chunk of time to work on a project but will that mean it’ll be hand drawn? Me hopes yes but it doesn’t look like it. Former storyboard artist Chris Butler will be writing and directing the film under the watchful eyes of Laika Entertainment. Check this out: Laika Entertainment also help produce two previous “new wave” animated features titled CORALINE and THE CORPSE BRIDE. There’s your animated right there folks. Gone are the days of the hand drawn art.
Will any of your kids (or yourselves) be checking this one out? Strike down below and let us know!
