Knives Out 2: Jessica Henwick added to Rian Johnson’s murder mystery

With Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist, Love and Monsters)joining that cast of Knives Out 2, the upcoming murder mystery from Rian Johnson is looking like it's on point. Henwick is the newest shining star to be added to the cast after Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline. Each will join Daniel Craig for the anticipated sequel, which Netflix had purchased for $400 million. Per the deal, Netflix will also take a stab at the third installment of Johnson's Knives Out series, which he will write and direct.

Henwick made a name for herself after starring as Colleen Wing in Netflix's Iron Fist. After the show was unceremoniously canceled, Henwick went on to act in films like UnderwaterOn the Rocks, and my personal favorite, Michael Matthews' Love and Monsters. If you've not seen Love and Monsters yet, I highly recommend it. It's one of the only honest-to-goodness fantasy adventure films in years, and Henwick delivers a great performance in it.

Henwick has other roles lined up for this year, including a part in Lana Wachowski's The Matrix 4 opposite Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. As if that's not an indication that Henwick's star is on the rise, she also has a starring role in Joe and Anthony Russo's The Gray Man. Filming now, The Gray Man also stars Knives Out alums Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, with Ryan Gosling, Billy Bob Thornton, Regé-Jean Page, Alfre Woodard, and Wagner Moura.

Character and plot details for Knives Out 2 are being kept under wraps at this time. Production is set to begin this summer in Greece.

Released in 2019, Knives Out featured Craig's Benoit Blanc investigating the death of a patriarch of an eccentric, combative family. Making up the cast of Johnson's critically-acclaimed whodunit are Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, LaKetih Stanfield, Christopher Plummer, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, Riki Lindhome, Edi Patterson, Frank Oz, and K Callan.
