Kirsten Dunst has joined Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton in MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, a sci-fi thriller being directed by Jeff Nichols (MUD, TAKE SHELTER). Nichols has called MIDNIGHT SPECIAL an ode to 80s John Carpenter movies, which is exactly what the movie world needs more of right now. (Seriously.)
In MIDNIGHT SPECIAL:
A father discovers his 8-year old son has supernatural powers and the two go on run from their enemies.
Dunst will be the film’s female lead, although no further details are available on her character. Warner Bros. is producing and distributing.
