I know that I’m uber pumped for the Stephen King
adaptation of
1408. I mean all the clips have been the bomb
diggity so far and based on
Arrow’s review it seems like just the kind of film that I’ve been
waiting for.
Well the one thing that makes me want to see this
film even more is the fact that Stephen King himself has given the film a big
scary ‘thumbs up’, which is pretty cool considering a lot of authors don’t ever
like the idea (Outside of the huge paycheck that is!) of their books becoming
films, little lone endorse them.
Over on his
official site,
King said “It’s a pleasure to be able to recommend
1408, the Dimension Pictures adaptation of my story. It stars John Cusack and
opens this Friday. This is a genuinely disquieting movie–the damn thing gets
under your skin and just CRAWLS there. For one thing, what could be more
terrifying than a man haunted by The Carpenters’ “We’ve Only Just Begun?” I
doubt if you’ll hear much screaming in the theater (I could be wrong about
that), but a lot of people are going to be sleeping with the lights on when it’s
over.”
I mean if King is claiming that the thing is
scary enough to keep you up at night, it must be pretty sweet. I gotta say that
endorsement alone is enough for me to check out the film. So make sure to check
out
Arrow’s review and than
1408 itself when it hit’s theatres this weekend.
King also gives this fine piece of ass a big ‘thumbs up’
