Killers of the Flower Moon releases new trailer and is now coming to IMAX theaters

While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny didn’t quite make the splash it was hoping to make when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year, another movie that made its debut there (to much greater success) is Martin Scorsese’s new anticipated drama Killers of the Flower Moon. This film brings a collaboration of Scorsese’s two prominent go-to actors of his career, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. Both of them have worked together previously, portraying father and son in 1993’s This Boy’s Life from director Michael Caton-Jones. However, the standout performance that audiences have been raving about is Lily Gladstone, as DiCaprio’s Native American spouse.

Apple has recently released a new trailer for the drama. And the official synopsis reads,
At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. Also starring Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons, Killers of the Flower Moon is directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, based on David Grann’s best-selling book.

The impressive names gathered for the cast include Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbot Jr., Pat Healy, Scott Shepard, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.

Hailing from Apple Studios, Killers of the Flower Moon was produced alongside Imperative Entertainment, Sikelia Productions and Appian Way. Producers are Martin Scorsese, Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Daniel Lupi, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Rick Yorn, Adam Sommer, Marianne Bower, Lisa Frechette, John Atwood, Shea Kammer and Niels Juul serving as executive producers.  

Additionally, the movie is set to be released in IMAX theaters before being made available on AppleTV+. Killers of the Flower Moon will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. Killers of the Flower Moon will be released in IMAX theatres beginning October 6 and wide on October 20, 2023 before streaming globally on Apple TV+.
