Killers of the Flower Moon: John Lithgow joins Martin Scorsese film

John Lithgow is joining the cast of Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon

If there’s anything more terrifying than John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer from Showtime’s Dexter, it’s the two-time Oscar nominee and 2x Golden Globe winner suiting up as a lawyer. It’s been announced that Lithgow will play Prosecutor Leaward in the Martin Scorsese film Killers of the Flower Moon. The cast also includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, Tantoo Cardinal, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Louis Cancelmi, William Belleau, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbott Jr., Pat Healy, and Scott Shepherd

Set in the 1920s, and based on David Grann’s bestselling novel, Killers of the Flower Moon revolves around members of the Osage tribe in the United States, who are murdered under mysterious circumstances, thus sparking a major F.B.I. investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover.

In addition to directing Flowers of the Killer Moon for Apple Studios, Scorsese will also produce. The legendary filmmaker also co-wrote the script with Eric Roth, who’s contributed to scripts for films like Dune, A Star is Born, Forrest Gump, and more. Producing alongside Scorsese are Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas and Appian Way Productions.

Lithgow is currently nominated for an Emmy for his performance in the HBO series Perry Mason. He’s also set to reprise his role as the Trinity Killer for Showtime’s revival series, Dexter: New Blood. He also appears as the character Harold Harper in the upcoming thriller The Old Man. Directed by Robert Levine and Jonathan E. Steinberg, The Old Man revolves around a former C.I.A. officer who’s living off the grid and finds himself on the run from people who want him dead. The series also stars Jeff Bridges, Noor Razooky, Pej Vahdat, Iman Nazemzadeh, Chris Gann, Andrew Perez, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat, and Navid Negahban, amongst others.

We’ll be sure to bring you any updates related to Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon as they continue to bloom.
