Killer Klowns from Outer Space: Spirit Halloween unveils costumes, merchandise

While Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo continue to patiently wait for a studio or streaming service to give them a chance to make a sequel to their horror comedy classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it HERE), the folks at Spirit Halloween are going to be celebrating the original film in a major way this year. If you want to have a very Killer Klown Halloween in 2021, Spirit has you covered with costumes, masks, and other merchandise like a blanket, a hat, cups, mugs, and more.

The 1988 film has the following synopsis:

When teenagers Mike and Debbie see a comet crash outside their sleepy small town, they investigate and discover a pack of murderous aliens who look very much like circus clowns. They try to warn the local authorities, but everyone assumes their story is a prank. Meanwhile, the clowns set about harvesting and eating as many people as they can. It’s not until they kidnap Debbie that Mike decides it’s up to him to stop the clowns’ bloody rampage.

There’s still no word on whether or not the Chiodos will get to make a Killer Klowns sequel. Stephen Chiodo confirmed last year that they were talking to the Netflix streaming service about it, but we haven’t heard anything further since last November. At the time, Chiodo said,

We are talking to (Netflix). We’re talking all the time. Get this: we’ve been trying to do a sequel since we made the film and fans get angry with us. We don’t mention it too much, because they get angry. They say, ‘Oh, what’s the matter with you guys?’ But we’re trying. The business is just a bear, moves at a glacial pace. There’s interest, and it wanes and flows. You get some executives who really want to do it, then, all of a sudden, musical chairs. They’re out, a new regime is in, and they don’t get it. We’ll see how Alien Xmas does with the Netflix people. We’ll see if they can embrace our sensibility.”
