Earlier this week, we shared the news that SINT director Dick Maas's 1988 slasher film AMSTERDAMNED is coming to Blu-ray on August 29th, courtesy of Blue Underground. That's great news, and even better: AMSTERDAMNED isn't the only Maas film Blue Underground will be releasing this year.
On October 10th, Blue Underground will be releasing DVD/Blu-ray combo packs of both Maas's 1983 Dutch language killer elevator movie THE LIFT and its 2001 English language remake, which Maas also directed, DOWN (also known as THE SHAFT).
THE LIFT stars Huub Stapel as
a repairman who discovers that a high-rise elevator has been overtaken by an evil force and is claiming human victims.
The cast of DOWN includes James Marshall, Naomi Watts, Michael Ironside, Eric Thal, Edward Herrmann, Dan Hedaya, and Ron Perlman.
Both films will be presented in 2K restorations from the original negatives and the discs will be packed with special features.
