William Brent Bell's THE BOY (not to be confused with the Rainn Wilson SpectreVision feature of the same name) is a creepy doll movie. There's no two ways about that. That concept has been pulled off before in flicks like CHILD'S PLAY, TRILOGY OF TERROR, and – to a lesser extent – ANNABELLE, but THE BOY looks poised to blow them out of the water in terms of pure creepiness. Starring The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan, the movie looks like a waking nightmare of British Gothic horror. Check out the brand new trailer below!
Greta is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family's 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta's worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.
Care for THE BOY, also starring Rupert Evans, Jim Norton, Diana Hardcastle, Ben Robson, and James Russell, nationwide on January 22, 2016.
