Happy Fourth of July weekend my fellow gore fiends! In the name of the holiday (which is prominent in the film we're featuring), this episode of KILL COUNTER takes on SCREAM screenwriter Kevin Williamson's 90's slasher I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (WATCH IT HERE). Sure, it might not be as whip-smart as Ghostface's meta-mindf*ck outings, but it's sure as hell a fun time at the movies AND you got to love that fisherman getup! Here's the hook:

A year after running over a fisherman and dumping his body in the water, four friends reconvene when Julie receives a frightening letter telling her that their crime was seen. While pursuing who he thinks is responsible for the letter, Barry is run over by a man with a meat hook. The bloodletting only increases from there, as the killer with the hook continues to stalk Julie, Helen and Ray.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER was directed by Jim Gillespie from a screenplay written by Kevin Williamson based on the book by Lois Duncan. Neal H. Moritz, Erik Feig, and Stokely Chaffin produced and it stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Freddie Prinze Jr., Johnny Galecki, and Bridgette Wilson. Columbia Pictures unleashed it back on October 17, 1997.
