Harrison Ford's THE FUGITIVE, which was based on the 1960s TV series of the same name, is still a hell of a lot of fun, and it seems that we're due for another re-imagining of the concept on the small-screen in The Fugitive. The upcoming Quibi series is set to kick off production next month and it's been announced that Kiefer Sutherland (Designated Survivor) and Boyd Holbrook (IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON) will be starring.

The Fugitive will center around Mike Ferro, a blue-collar worker who just wants to make sure his wife, Allison, and 10-year-old daughter, Pearl, are safe, when a bomb rips through the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding on. But when faulty evidence on the ground and “tweet-now, confirm-later” journalism paint a nightmarish picture: it looks to all the world that Mike was responsible for the heinous act. Wrongfully — and very publicly — accused, Mike must prove his innocence by uncovering the real perpetrator, before the legendary cop heading the investigation can apprehend him. Dang. Kiefer Sutherland will play Detective Clay Bryce, the legendary cop in question, with Body Holbrook playing Mike Ferro. Neither character has any connection to the 1960s series or thet 1993 feature-film. This new take on The Fugitive comes from Nick Santora (Scorpion), who will be writing, with Stephen Hopkins (24) set to direct and executive produce.

If you're wondering what the hell Quibi is, it's an upcoming short-form streaming service founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg which is looking to target younger viewers with premium content delivered in "quick bites" for viewing on the go. Each Quibi series will be around two to four hours in length, but will be divided into segments no longer than 10 minutes each. Finally, something to do on the crapper besides browsing Reddit.
