Kick-Ass 3: Chloe Grace Moretz open to returning as Hit-Girl

Matthew Vaughn’s adaptation of John Romita, Jr. and Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass was a phenomenon; Kick-Ass 2 was less so. There have been rumours of a possible Kick-Ass 3 over the years but it’s unlikely to happen, but that certainly doesn’t stop those involved from chiming in with their two cents.

While appearing on The Tonight Show, Chloe Grace Moretz was asked about rumours regarding Kick-Ass 3 and whether or not she would be open to reprising her role of Hit-Girl, the pint-sized vigilante with a filthy mouth and a penchant for gruesome violence.

I think I would love to do a Kick-Ass 3. I think it would be really fun to see where Hit-Girl goes and what she’s like as an adult,” Moretz said. “But I think it would have to be kind of perfect.

If the Kick-Ass sequel does eventually come together, Chloe Grace Moretz says that “it would need to be the whole crew back together,” meaning that Andrew Taylor-Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse would have to return as well.

I mentioned earlier that Kick-Ass 3 likely isn’t going to happen, and that’s a sentiment shared by Mark Millar. The Kick-Ass creator recently spoke with ScreenRant to say that there’s no plans for a third movie at this time. “I talk to Matthew Vaughn three times a week, Matthew is one of my best friends, and we’ve no plans because I’m over at Netflix and he has deals over with Apple and Kick-Ass is Universal,” Millar explained. “So there’s definitely no plans, maybe at some point in the future, we do have one last story to tell, which is the big finale storyline. I kind of like the idea of that as well, because practically we can come back a little later to all the characters in different places, so there’s a potential story there at some point. But I pray that nobody reads this and mistakes that for us saying Kick-Ass 3 is in the works, because there’s 100 percent no plans to do it at the moment.” Would you like to see Kick-Ass 3 or is it time to leave the franchise alone?
