Kevin Spacey seems to be attempting a comeback. The actor has booked his first film role in years following the various sexual misconduct claims that have been made against him.
ABC News is reporting that Spacey will appear in the Italian film L'uomo Che Disegno Dio. Also known as The Man Who Drew God, the film is directed by Franco Nero and it also stars Nero's wife, Vanessa Redgrave. Nero said to ABC News "I'm very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film. I consider him a great actor and I can't wait to start the movie."
This will mark Spacey's first film in four years. The embattled actor has faced multiple sexual assault charges and other misconduct issues that have essentially canceled the actor from all of Hollywood. Spacey lost his role as President Frank Underwood in Netflix's House of Cards back in 2017 when the claims first surface and his scenes in All The Money in the World were reshot with the late Christopher Plummer following the allegations.
Spacey's legal woes include at least 20 young men who have reported alleged sexual misconduct by the actor at the London theater, the Old Vic, between 1995 and 2013. In 2018, Spacey was charged with indecent assault that stemmed from an alleged incident with a teenager on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, during the summer of 2016. The actor's problems have also followed him to Los Angeles where he has two separate sexual assault cases against him. In those, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against Spacey because the statute of limitation had run out in one case and the second alleged victim, a massage therapist, died. In a more recent lawsuit out of New York, an anonymous man alleged Spacey abused him in the 1980s when he was 14 but a judge ruled that the case can't proceed if the victim remains anonymous. That case is currently ongoing.
