Kevin Smith has been posting pictures from his upcoming movie TUSK on his Instagram like a twelve-year-old with a new iPhone, and one of his latest updates is this anatomically correct-ish tease of the man-walrus featured in the film.
TUSK is inspired by the true story of an advertisement from a man looking for someone to dress as a walrus and play with him after he grew attached to the animal while stuck on a deserted island.
Synopsis:
When his best friend and podcast co-host goes missing in the backwoods of Canada, a young guy joins forces with his friend's girlfriend to search for him.
Justin Long will play the podcaster who goes missing in TUSK, and it also stars Haley Joel Osment as his best friend, Genesis Rodriguez as Long's girlfriend, and Michael Parks as the man who posted the advertisement. In his Instagram posts, Kevin Smith says production for TUSK should be finished by the end of the week, and he's already edited some footage for the film.
TUSK sounds quite twisted, and for the first time in what feels like forever, I'm pretty excited for a new Kevin Smith movie. Although it's being described as a horror movie, I wonder if it will be purely a horror flick, or if there will be some comedic elements. Smith previously compared his movie to THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE, and if it's anywhere near the level of f*cked up as that film, we could be in for a real treat with TUSK.
TUSK should be in theaters sometime in 2014.
