Just when you thought he was out, a deal has been made to pull Kevin Feige back in.

It's been announced that Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Walt Disney Studios have struck a deal to have Kevin Feige produce a third film in the SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING series. Set for a July 16, 2021 release, the third chapter of Spider-Man's latest saga will again feature Tom Holland as the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler. Additionally, Spidey will be permitted to appear in other films belonging to the MCU. As a way of sweetening the pot, Amy Pascal will also produce via her Pascal Pictures label.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Feige. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

“This is terrific. Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes,” said Pascal. “This has been a winning partnership for the studios, the franchise and the fans and I’m overjoyed it will continue.”

Earlier this month, it was announced that  a battle between Sony and Disney over Spider-Man had ended with Sony taking sole posession of Marvel's wise-cracking web-slinger. In fact, while speaking at Variety's Entertainment & Technology summit, Sony Pictures' CEO Tony Vinciquerra stated that "for the moment the door is closed" regarding Spider-Man's possible return to the MCU. When pressed for details about the split, Vinciquerra stated that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige's increasingly busy workload (bringing the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and more into the MCU) was one of the reasons that talks with Disney broke down, but that there was "no ill will" between the two studios.

"We had a great run with (Feige) on Spider-Man movies. We tried to see if there’s a way to work it out….the Marvel people are terrific people, we have great respect for them, but on the other hand we have some pretty terrific people of our own. Kevin didn’t do all the work," said Vinciquerra.

Oh Hollywood, playing with my Spider-Man is like playing with my emotions! Can't we all just get along?

This news is bound to excite Spider-fans across the globe, as Tom Holland's take on the character has been hailed by many as the best yet. A third film also means that we're likely to get a continuation of the shocking events established during the final moments of SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. What moment is that, you ask? Well, SPOILERS AHEAD … but I'm talking of course about the moment in which Quentin Beck aka Mysterio, reveals Spider-Man's true identity to the world! Obviously, there will be some major fallout as a result of the reveal, and now it sounds as if we'll get to witness the result of Peter's identity having been exposed!

Take a deep breath, web-heads, because Tom Holland's Spider-Man is back … at least for now.
