Oh that pesky title for AVENGERS 4. The reason which Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave for not revealing the title prior to the release of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR was that it could potentially spoil the film, which is something we can certainly understand given how INFINITY WAR ended. Much time has been spent theorizing just what the title could be, so much so that Feige later said, "It’s gotten entirely out of hand, and now will have no chance to living up to any expectations of what it’s gonna be." Feige added that the choice to withhold the title was that so all of the focus would be on INFINITY WAR, but admitted that the plan "sort of backfired." With INFINITY WAR now behind us, many were assuming that the title of AVENGERS 4 would soon be unveiled, but Kevin Feige told Collider that it could still be a while.
That’ll be after the Captain Marvel teaser probably, announcing that title. It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film.
Production on CAPTAIN MARVEL is due to wrap up in the next two weeks, and given that the film is slated for a March 8, 2019 release, we're likely still a number of months away from the release of the first teaser, which means that it could arrive sometime around September-October. Well, I guess we'll just need to strap ourselves in for several more months of speculation. What's your best guess for the AVENGERS 4 title?
AVENGERS 4 is set for a May 3, 2019 release.
