It sounds like AMC wants Kevin to go f**k himself even more. By that, I mean that the network has renewed Kevin Can F**k Himself for another season. Led by Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy, the second season will consist of eight episodes and is slated to premiere on AMC+ and AMC next year.
Kevin Can F**k Himself arrived with a bang on AMC and quickly became the most-watched series on AMC+. According to analysts, the series did particularly well with young, upscale, and female-skewing viewers. It would have done well in my house as well if I had access to AMC+. I think Annie Murphy is talented beyond words and will eventually cave to the money gods to watch this show.
“It’s Kevin’s world, Allison’s just living in it. Or is she? This series was built on a novel and unique concept, and the creative team on both sides of the camera, led by Valerie and Annie, delivered a highly entertaining first season that really got people talking and rooting for the sitcom wife as never before. We are excited to see this talented team move from the finale’s cliffhanger and continue Allison’s journey, pushing the bounds of conventional storytelling every step of the way,” said Dan McDermott, president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios.
Kevin Can F**k Himself focuses on Allison (Murphy), a woman who becomes sick of feeling like the prototypical Sitcom Wife. To escape her confines and embrace her rage, Allison often escapes to an alternate reality where she gathers strength for her real life.
The experimental sitcom also stars Mary Hollis Inboden, Eric Petersen, Alex Bonifer, Brian Howe, and Raymond Lee.
