A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is a horror franchise that I love dearly, but it seems to have been well and truly killed off by its miserable 2010 remake. But if they do end up making another film in the series, there's one unlikely person who would be interested in the role of dream killer Freddy Krueger: Kevin Bacon, who stated as much on Twitter today.
Obviously, this doesn't mean that anything will happen, but Bacon does have a habit of influencing Hollywood events, if the in-development Tremors TV series is anything to go by.
Check out the Tweets below:
Bacon has certainly spent his time in the horror trenches, making an early appearance in the iconic FRIDAY THE 13TH before going on to star in TREMORS and STIR OF ECHOES, as well as appearing just this year in Greg McLean's THE DARKNESS.
And he's certainly not opposed to playing a villain. Hell, he played a Nazi in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. He can do Freddy! How do you think a Kevin Bacon Freddy would be?
