Kevin Bacon reteams with Blumhouse for You Should Have Left

The new Blumhouse project YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT has a title that makes it sound like a companion piece to GET OUT, but it doesn't really have anything to do with that Oscar winner.

It's actually a continuation of a working relationship the production company established with actor Kevin Bacon a couple years back on the film THE DARKNESS. Bacon and Blumhouse worked together again last year, when they shot a pilot for a TREMORS mini-series (still no word if Syfy is going to pick that up), and now they're reteaming for this horror thriller YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT, which is based on a novel by Daniel Kehlmann.

YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT also reunites Bacon with his STIR OF ECHOES writer/director David Koepp – and if this moves along at the right speed, it could be released in time for the 20th anniversary of STIR OF ECHOES next year.

Kehlmann's 2017 novel told the SHINING-esque story of

a screenwriter in a remote house in the Alps working on a sequel to his hit film. The writer begins to lose his bearings thanks to unexplained occurrences.

Bacon will be producing the film alongside Blumhouse's Jason Blum. If you would like to get a copy of Kehlmann's novel, you can do so at THIS LINK.
