Kevin Bacon joins Greg Mclean’s survival thriller Jungle

Having just wrapped 6 MIRANDA DRIVE, the Universal/Blumhouse micro-budget thriller, it looks like Kevin Bacon and WOLF CREEK director Greg Mclean will team up once again for JUNGLE, the new thriller based on the international best selling memoir of the same name written by Yossi Ghinsberg. "The story requires an actor of consummate skill to bring to life a complex, dangerous and alluring character who anchors the entire piece. Kevin was our first and only choice and I look forward to working with him again.” Said Mclean. While we haven't see anything from 6 MIRANDA DRIVE yet, the unlikely tandem of Mclean and Bacon sounds like its going to be fantastic.

Mclean directs from a script written by one of Australia’s leading screenwriters, Justin Monjo, and it goes like this:

JUNGLE tells the story of Yossi Ghinsberg, an enthusiastic young adventurer following his dreams, who heads into the Amazon jungle with two friends and a guide with a mysterious past. Their journey turns into a terrifying psychological ordeal and fight for survival as the darkest elements of human nature and the deadliest threats of the wilderness emerge to test their endurance. Bacon will play Karl, the guide that leads Ghinsberg and companions into the heart of the jungle.

JUNGLE is produced by Dana Lustig (DANCING AT THE BLUE LAGUNA, THOUSAND KISSES KEEP), Gary Hamilton (LORD OF WAR, BAIT 3D, THE BANK JOB), and Mike Gabrawy (RESIDENT EVIL, BAIT 3D, OUTCAST) and Mark Lazarus (LOVED ONES). Shooting is set to begin early next year on location in Australia and Colombia.
