Kelsey Grammer wants original Co-Stars for Frasier Reboot

As announced by Deadline, Kelsey Grammer wants his original co-stars for the FRAISER reboot, and he already has an idea in mind for the "stepping point" of the show.

During a panel celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the hit NBC series as part of the USC Comedy Festival Vol. 4 held in Los Angeles on Saturday, Grammer gave an update about a possible third act for his beloved character, Dr. Fraiser Crane. While Grammer announced that "there’s been no premise that has come along that has the necessary fire,” he also went on to say that "There has been some discussions; nothing is planned; There is nothing set in stone. In my own personal approach to what I’ve discussed with other people is that I wouldn’t want to do it without these guys,” he said, looking at Pierce and Leeves who were sitting next to him.

Grammer has been meeting with potential writers, spearheading the effort at CBS TV Studios to get the reboot up and running. Although Grammer has yet to settle on a premise worthy of the show's standards, he did say that it would have to "have a different foundation", as it’s been 14 years since the show ended its 11 -season run in 2004. He also revealed that what he really wants is “a new life with a new continuation for all of them but that they’re still together.” As to what that continuation will be, Grammer isn't sure. It's not yet clear in his mind what his character has been doing these past 14 years. However, he did mention that Dr. Crane should have an issue that he's yet to resolve.

“Whatever happens, in my mind, should be that he sorted out something that he hadn’t had sorted out previously" explained Grammer. "That would be the stepping point, so we’ll see.”
