Tasty lithe brunette Keira Knightley and scruffy Irish man cake Colin Farrell have joined David Thewlis, Anna Friel, Ben Chaplin and Ray Winstone in Oscar winning THE DEPARATED screenwriter William Monahan’s upcoming feature directorial debut LONDON BOULEVARD. Based on Ken Bruen’s novel, the story follows a recently released London criminal who gets tangled up with a young actress. It’s unclear who’ll be playing the criminal (Farrell or Chaplin, perhaps) but Knightley will likely be playing the impressionable ingenue. Unless they go with Friel as the impressionable ingenue, in which case Knightley will be playing some other chick. Either way, it’s good to see her signing on to movies that take place in this century after a string of about forty-eight period films. Knightley can next be seen in the romantic drama LAST NIGHT and the drama/thriller NEVER LET ME GO. Farrell can next be seen as a Heath Ledger clone in Terry Gilliam’s THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS and in the drama CRAZY LOVE.
