Keanu Reeves says they’re trying to get the story right for Bill & Ted 3

It's been about a year since Alex Winter said they’ll either be shooting BILL & TED 3 soon, or it’s never going to happen, but the project is still in the works, and Keanu Reeves recently gave an update on the long-in-development threequel during an interview with IGN. Back in 2014, Reeves told the site “we’re closer, but we’re not closer," to getting the film made, and he says “That’s still true – we’re closer and we’re not closer. We’re expecting another draft and hopefully we’ll get closer.”

Winters previously said that BILL & TED 3 will deal with the duo getting old, and will follow them as they struggle to write the song that will save the world, and Reeves says the key to making the movie work is “the actualisation of that concept.” He also went on to say that they want to make sure they get the script right before moving forward.

We’re just trying to get the script together. We’re trying to get the story right. We’re working with this studio so we have a little bit of support, in a sense of like if the material comes through we’ll try and make this picture. We’re really just still trying to get the story right.

I'm still not totally convinced that BILL & TED 3 will actually happen, but I'm definitely down for another excellent adventure featuring the pair of dim-witted metalheads, and I have my fingers crossed that the Wyld Stallyns will ride again on the big screen.
