Keanu Reeves has been at the center of rumors for years that he has been in talks to join the MCU in some capacity. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has admitted that he offers Reeves a role in “almost every film we make” and now the actor has addressed the rumors in a new video.
During a chat with “Esquire“, Reeves responded to fan questions and one of them was when would the John Wick actor finally be joining the MCU. Here is what he had to say:
“Isn’t it bigger than a universe? It’s almost like a Multiverse. It’s a Marvel-Verse. It would be an honor. There’s some really amazing directors and visionaries, and they’re doing something that no one’s really ever done. It’s special in that sense, in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it would be cool to be a part of that.”
Reeves has been previously linked, via rumors, to the upcoming Moon Knight series (that role went to Oscar Isaac) and Kraven The Hunter in the Sony Spider-Man Universe. That role isn’t technically the MCU but we’re seeing more and more evidence that those worlds are going to eventually collide in a significant way. Aaron Taylor-Johnson ultimately landed the Kraven role so that means another one is up for grabs if Reeves is game for it.
If anything, I love all of this love for Keanu Reeves because he seems like one of the nicest guys working in the business and it seems like everyone has nothing but positive things to say about the actor. There is a reason he’s still a box office player and continues to command roles.
Who would YOU like to see Keanu Reeves play in the MCU? Keanu Reeves can be seen next reprising his role as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections on December 22, 2021.
