Back in February we learned that Eli Roth had teamed up with his AFTERSHOCK co-writers on a new thriller called KNOCK KNOCK. On tap today is some interesting casting news as Deadline reports that Keanu Reeves has just committed to star for Eli Roth in KNOCK KNOCK, a psychological thriller that Roth wrote and will direct.
Reeves will play a happily married family man who’s left alone for the weekend. Two beautiful girls show up at his house, and turn his life upside down. Getting the nod to play the femme fatales are both Lorenza Izzo (above), who just starred for Roth in THE GREEN INFERNO, and Ana de Armas (below).
When talking with the site, Roth points out that KNOCK KNOCK isn't horror film, saying, "I had a window before I promote Green Inferno, and I wanted to make a movie like Roman Polanski or Paul Verhoeven made when they were young, a classic psychosexual thriller that’s not a horror movie, but would have everyone on the edge of their seats." It's certainly an interesting tandem—Roth and Reeves—but I'm pretty excited to see how Roth steers a thriller like this.
Ignacia Allamand, Colleen Camp and Aaron Burns have also joined the cast. Look for more on KNOCK KNOCK soon as Roth starts production April 14 in Santiago, Chile.
