Have you ever wondered what would happen if John Wick and LOST's Kin-Soo Kwon met face-to-face? Alright, so maybe this movie isn't that, but a guy can dream, can't he?
It's been announced today that Keanu Reeves (BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC, THE MATRIX) and Daniel Dae Kim (HELLBOY, THE LEGEND OF KORRA) have been cast in the upcoming Netflix comedy ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE starring Ali Wong and Randall Park. The film follows childhood sweethearts who have a falling out and don’t speak for 15 years. They reconnect as adults when Sasha (Wong), now a celebrity chef opening a restaurant in San Francisco, runs into Marcus (Park), a happily struggling musician still living at home working for his dad. The old sparks are still there but can they adapt to each other’s world?
Production for the film is currently underway in Vancouver with Nahnatchka Khan set to direct. Also signed to appear as members of the cast are Michelle Buteau (THE TICK), Vivian Bang (WHITE RABBIT), Karan Soni (DEADPOOL 2), Charlyne Yi (PAPER HEART), James Saito (TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES), Lyrics Born, and Susan Park (VICE PRINCIPALS).
ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE is eyeing a 2019 debut on Netflix. Meanwhile, Reeves continues to shoot the third installment of his John Wick action franchise, JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3, in New York City. The hich-octane sequel is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 17, 2019.
