Kate Bosworth is becoming more and more of a quality scream queen over time from her roles in such flicks as BLACK ROCK, that (unnecessary) STRAW DOGS remake to Mike Flanagan's BEFORE I WAKE (a must-see if you missed it) and most recently in Mike P. Nelson's THE DOMESTICS.
And today we have word that Bosworth has no plans to slow down on her genre contributions as Deadline reports that she will not only star in the new sci-fi thriller GENESIS, but she is producing the film as well.
The new movie will be directed by Mike Lè Han (HELLRAISER: ORIGINS Short Film) from a screenplay written by Brian Michael Scully. It will center on
A mother searching for her daughter in a post-apocalyptic world.
As mentioned above, Bosworth will be producing via her Make Pictures Productions with Jason Tamasco, Jerry Careccio, and Zak Kristofek’s Bad Idea. The producers are now taking the title around at the ongoing American Film Market in Santa Monica.
Like I hinted at above, I'm growing to be more and more of a fan of Kate Bosworth's genre work over the past few years. I always had an interest in her after seeing Roger Avary's THE RULES OF ATTRACTION back in the day and I'm glad to see she's keeping in the spotlight. How about you? Do you dig Kate Bosworth and her recent genre work? How does this new film GENESIS sound to you? Let us know below!
