Former “House” star Karolina Wydra is the lastest bloodsucker to join the cast of HBO’s “True Blood”, joining the recent additions of Rutger Hauer (as a mysterious figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason), Rubicon’s Arliss Howard (as Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell), “Friday Night Lights” grad Jurnee Smollett-Bell (as do-gooder Nicole) and 90210‘s Amelia Rose Blaire (as Howard’s onscreen daughter) for the cable giant’s sixth season of the hit vampire show, according to TVLine.
Wydra has signed on to play Violet, described as…
“a strong, sexy, possibly dangerous” vampire who is said to be “on par with” Eric Northman and Bill Compton.
Wydra is perhaps best known for her recurring role on “House” as Dominika Petrova, the green card wife of Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie). Wydra has previously appeared in CRAZY STUPID LOVE, BE KIND REWIND, SECONDS, and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” She will next be seen in the sci-fi thriller EUROPA REPORT, to be released later this year.
“True Blood” will return to HBO this summer, with a premiere date likely to fall within June.
Hopefully we’ll see a lot of Wydra doing what we see above in “True Blood”.
