Australian horror writer/director Chris Sun is set to create an iconic Australian horror villian with his upcoming feature CHARLIE'S FARM, and he's bringing along some of horrors heavyweights to take the trip with him.
FilmInk.com.au is reporting that CHARLIE'S FARM has attracted an international cast that includes SHARKNADO's Tara Reid, Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL'S REJECTS), as well as Australian actor Nathan Jones, who is set to appear in the new MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, as the titular killer Charlie. Also joining the mix is horror veteran Kane Hodder (HATCHET).
Here's the lowdown on the synopsis:
When four friends head into the Australian outback to explore Charlie’s Farm, the site where a violent family met their end at the hands of an angry mob, they persist in their horror seeking adventure despite all the warnings. While exploring the property, they encounter Charlie, who shows them that some legends never die…
Sun has set out to create Charlie as Australia’s first iconic killer – described as a 7-foot, 170kg-killing machine and…
“…a cold-hearted, no talking killer. He has lived in the outback alone since he was ten years old; he kills anyone that invades his land. No mercy, no talking, sheer terror.”
Sounds good to me! But I would argue that Australia already has an iconic cinematic horror badass in WOLF CREEK's Mick Taylor, memorably played by John Jarratt in the original film and the upcoming sequel. But hey, that's just this guys opinion…
Even better, Sun claims that the $1.5 million budgeted CHARLIE'S FARM will “have more guts, passion and glory then any 10 million dollar horror film and will shock and scare the crap out of real slasher fans out there.” Let's hope so!
