As per a very famous song, everything in the world of THE LEGO MOVIE is awesome, and you can’t have an awesome world without the likes of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Dumbledore and, of course, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Though the latter pop culture icons have gotten their chances to shine in the previous Lego outings, Ginsburg is now finally getting her shot at yellow brick glory with a cameo in the upcoming THE LEGO MOVIE PART 2: THE SECOND PART.

A short teaser for the movie was posted online over the weekend with various do-gooders teaming up to save the day, with Ginsburg the last – but certainly not least – name on the roll call. While she can use her mighty gavel to lay down the law, she can also use it to do some serious master building. We can only imagine how awesome her makeshift Gins-mobile looks.

USA Today spoke about the surprise appearance with director Mike Mitchell, who said the idea of turning Ginsburg into a Lego figurine was too good an opportunity to pass up.
"These movies are so full of surprises. And we were thinking, 'Who’s the last person you would think to see in a Lego film as a minifig?' Ruth Bader Ginsburg! And we’re all huge fans. It made us laugh to think of having her enter this world."
At the end of the first movie, we saw the Lego world was the creation of a young boy in the real world all along, and the final shot is of his sister joining the playtime with her own world. The Systar system, as its known, will play a role in the movie, and Mitchell says the Ginsburg figurine will have a brief role as part of the sister’s created universe.

While having the actual Ginsburg voice her own figurine would be incredible, she does not lend her voice in the movie. However, she did give her approval to use her likeness when reached out to by the filmmakers. "She said, 'Of course, I'd love to be a Lego figure. That would be cool,'” says Miller.
Her LEGO legacy will extend beyond the movie, as an actual Ginsburg figurine will be made available for purchase in stores. According to Miller it will feature the Justice in her robes and come with a matching gavel. Best get those Christmas lists in order, kids.
THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART hits theaters February 8.
